Additional Benefits
- 24 Hour Roadside Assistance: Your vehicle is covered for up to ten (10) incidents throughout the duration of your Service Contract. Towing benefits are available for a maximum of $100 per incident. Lockout service, fuel and fluid delivery (excluding the cost of fuel or fluids), and battery boost/jump services are covered up to $50 per incident. Note that battery boost/jump services are not applicable to electric or hybrid vehicles.
Roadside Assistance benefits are administered by Quest Software, Inc. (dba Quest Towing Services, Inc. and Quest Claims Services) located at 106 West Tolles Drive, St. Johns, MI 48879. To utilize Roadside Assistance, contact Quest Towing Services for approval and assistance; failure to do so will result in no coverage for the service. Contact: 1-855-513-5184.
- Rental Benefits: This benefit is provided by Quest Software, Inc. (dba Quest Towing Services, Inc. and Quest Claims Services), located at 106 West Tolles Drive, St. Johns, MI 48879. To request rental reimbursement, your repair must be authorized and start on the claim submission date.
Rental reimbursement is available for up to $40 per day, for a maximum of five (5) days. Any authorized repair requiring your vehicle to remain at a repair facility qualifies for one (1) day of rental reimbursement. Parts delays qualify for up to three (3) days of reimbursement, and inspection delays required by the Administrator qualify for up to one (1) day of rental reimbursement.
Only charges from licensed rental agencies will be reimbursed; rideshare programs (such as Uber or Lyft) and other alternative transportation costs are not covered. To receive reimbursement, provide the paid rental receipt to the Administrator. Reimbursement will not exceed the actual incurred costs.
Optional Coverages & Surcharges
- Oil Changes: To be eligible for reimbursement, you must have selected the Oil Change option at purchase and paid the surcharge. This covers one Oil Change per year, valued at up to $40, during your Service Contract period. Submit paid receipts for all changes to the Administrator for reimbursement. Changes must be made within the Contract's duration. Reimbursement will cover either the MSRP cost of five quarts of oil, one OEM oil filter, and up to 0.2 hours of labor at the facility's rate, or the facility's listed price for a conventional oil change, whichever is lower.
- Brake Pads/Shoes: You qualify for Brake Pads or Shoes replacement if you selected the Brake Pads/Shoes option at purchase and paid the required surcharge. The maximum benefit allowed is $100 over the term of your Service Contract.
- Wiper Blades: To qualify for reimbursement, you must have selected the Wiper Blades option at purchase and paid the required surcharge. This covers two services for Wiper Blades replacement, up to $20 each, during your Service Contract term. The maximum reimbursement available for this benefit is $40 over the term of your Service Contract.
- Battery & Lights: To qualify for reimbursement, you must have selected the Battery & Lights option at purchase and paid the required surcharge. This covers:
1. The cost of an Alignment and replacement of Exterior Lamps & Bulbs, with a maximum reimbursement of $200 during your Service Contract term.
2. A one-time benefit of $50 for Battery Replacement.
The total maximum reimbursement available for these benefits is $250 over the term of your Service Contract.
Mandatory Surcharges
Available 24/7 anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Services include:
- 4 Wheel/All-Wheel Drive Coverage: If Your Vehicle is equipped with 4Wheel/All-Wheel Drive, the following components are covered: 4 Wheel Drive Actuator and Locking Hubs
- Diesel: If You have a diesel Vehicle, an additional mandatory surcharge is applied.
- One Ton Vehicle: If You have a vehicle with a one-ton gross vehicle weight capability, (GVW) an additional mandatory surcharge is applied.
- Towing Package: If Your Vehicle is equipped with a Manufacturer Installed Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck Hitch Tow package modification and Manufacturers towing specification are followed, an additional mandatory surcharge is applied. No coverage is provided for components that were utilized to facilitate the vehicle’s modification, including but not limited to the Hitch and its components. Proof of installation will be required.
- Turbocharger/Supercharger: (factory installed only): all internal components contained within the Turbocharger/Supercharger Housing, Turbo Boost Valve, Turbo Waste Gate Actuator, Bearing, Bushing, and all other internal components, and Seals and Gaskets, Supply Line.
- Lift Kit: If Your Vehicle is equipped with a Lift Kit modification, an additional mandatory surcharge is applied. No coverage is provided for components that were utilized to facilitate the vehicle’s modification, including but not limited to the Lift Kit and its components. Oversize wheels and tires are included within the guidelines of Lift Kit Coverage. The modification to the height and width of wheels and tires is limited to a maximum of 6 inches, inclusive of any modifications to the wheels or tires, or both. Vehicles with Lift Kits that exceed 6 inches are not eligible for coverage and will be excluded from coverage. The 6 inch modification is measured from the manufacturer’s vehicle specifications (as listed in nationally published repair manuals);inclusive of any and all modifications of the vehicle’s body and suspension. The vehicle must be equipped with the lift kit modification at the time of vehicle purchase to be eligible for coverage, and if the installation date of the Lift Kit cannot be verified, the Administrator may deny any claim. No coverage is available for suspension reductions or undersized wheels or tires. Any damage resulting from suspension reductions or undersized wheels or tires is excluded from coverage. Coverage is supplemental to the manufacturer’s coverage and will not apply to any failure for which the manufacturer has denied coverage due to the installation of the Lift Kit.
- Rideshare Coverage: A ridesharing vehicle is defined as any vehicle, not commercially registered, used for the purpose of transportation of others regardless of whether You receive any compensation for that use.
- Commercial Use Coverage: Use is defined as any vehicle being used in accordance with the definition provided in this Service Contract.
Note: Any vehicle which has any of the following features is not eligible for Commercial Use Coverage: Diesel, Turbo/Supercharger. - Hybrid Vehicle: Electric Motor, Power Controller, Inverter Assembly, Generator, Drive Motor Temperature Sensor/Switch, Battery Cooling Fan Relay/Module, Damper, Electric Water pump, Electric Air Conditioning Compressor and Battery Cooling Fan, Water Assembly Valve. A mandatory surcharge is applied if Your Vehicle is a hybrid model.

Engine
- Cylinder block and all internal parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case/cover, timing chain, timing belt, tensioners, gears, sprockets, and guides; serpentine belt tensioner; harmonic balancer; oil pump; intake manifold; flywheel with starter ring gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; factory-installed turbocharger/ supercharger including internal parts and wastegate actuator; oxygen sensor; mass airflow sensor; crank sensor; cam sensor. Seals and gaskets are covered for listed components only.
Automatic Transmission
- Transmission case and all internal parts; bell housing; transmission pan; torque converter; drive/flex plate; transmission range switch; speed sensors; pressure sensors; PRNDL position switch; transmission control module; valve body; mechatronics unit; conductor plate; servo assemblies; transmission cooler; seals and gaskets for listed components only; and reprogramming/re-flash up to $150 per authorized claim. Transmission case bell housing only if damaged by a covered component internal to the transmission/transfer case housing.
Manual Transmission
- Main shaft; counter shaft; all gears; chain; input shaft; hub assemblies; synchronizers; shift rails; shift fork; and internal transmission bearings. Lubricated parts contained within the transmission case housing. Transmission case only if damaged by a covered component internal to the transmission/transfer case housing. NOTE: Manual transmission clutch parts are not covered at any time.
Engine Cooling System
- Water pump and housing; fan clutch; radiator.
All Wheel Drive
- Power transfer unit and all internal parts; viscous coupler; axle housing and all internal parts; constant velocity joints and boots; drive shaft and axle shaft assemblies; differential carrier assembly and all internal parts; output ball bearing; output flange; end cover; overrunning clutch; vacuum motor; torque tube; pinion spacer and shim; wheel bearings/hub assemblies; seals and gaskets for listed components only. Power transfer unit case only if damaged by a covered component internal to the power transfer unit housing.
Rear Wheel Drive
- Rear axle housing and all internal parts; axle shafts; axle shaft bearings; drive shaft assemblies; driveshaft center bearings; universal joints and yokes; wheel bearings/hub assemblies; seals and gaskets for listed components only. Rear axle housing only if damaged by a covered component internal to the rear axle housing.
Four-wheel Drive (4x4)
- Transfer case and all internal parts; transfer case control module and shift mode motor assembly; axle housing and all internal parts; axle shafts; axle shaft bearings; drive shafts assemblies (front and rear); drive shaft center bearings; universal joints;4x4 hubs; yokes; wheel bearings/hub assemblies; disconnect housing assembly; seals and gaskets for the listed components only. Transfer case housing only if damaged by a covered component internal to the transfer case housing.
Fluids
- Fluids are covered only when required in conjunction with a covered component.
Seals & Gaskets
- If your vehicle has less than 100,000 miles at the time of the claim, seals and gaskets are covered for leakage failures as they relate to any listed covered component. If your vehicle has over100,000 miles at the time of claim, seals and gaskets are covered only when required in conjunction with a covered component. (Cylinder head gaskets are covered only for combustion and coolant leaks. Intake manifold gaskets are covered only for coolant leaks).

Suspension
- Upper and lower control arms and bushings, if bushings cannot be replaced individually; ball joints; leaf and coil springs only if broken.
Steering Components
- Power steering gearbox; rack and pinion; and high pressure lines. Steering box, rack and pump housing only if damaged by an internally lubricated part).
Brake Components
- Power brake booster; master cylinder; calipers; ABS hydraulic components; proportioning valve; ABS wheel speed sensors.
Electrical Components
- Starter motor and solenoid; alternator, voltage regulator; electric cooling fan motor; distributor; power window motors/switches; power door lock actuators/switches; power trunk or tailgate actuator and motor; all manually operated switches; ignition control module; and cruise control assembly.
Air Conditioning & Refrigerant
- Compressor; clutch; condenser; accumulator/receiver drier; and evaporator. Refrigerant included only with covered repair.
Fuel
- Fuel pump; fuel injectors; lift pump; transfer pump; MAP/air charge temperature sensor; intake manifold pressure sensor; and throttle position sensor.

- We deliver essential fluids to get you back on the road, such as fuel, oil, and/or water (cost of fluids not included).
Flat Tire Assistance
- Up to $50 per occurrence for jump-starting a dead battery (not available for hybrid vehicles).
Dead Battery Jump-start
- Up to $50 per occurrence for jump-starting a dead battery (not available for hybrid vehicles).
Lockout Service
- Up to $50 per occurrence for on location assistance if you lock your keys/fob in your vehicle or if they are lost/broken (key/fob replacement cost not included).
Towing
- Up to $200 per occurrence for towing to the nearest qualified repair facility.
Rental Benefits
- Up to $75 reimbursement per 6 hours of labor time, with a maximum benefit of $450 per claim, is provided for authorized repair work (time unrelated to authorized repairs not included).
Trip Interruption
- Up to $150 reimbursement per day for up to 3 days towards meals and/or lodging expenses is provided if you are more than 100 miles away from home and unable to operate your vehicle due to a covered mechanical breakdown.
Labor & Diagnostics
- We cover repair facility labor and/or diagnostic charges associated with a covered repair*.(Your authorization may be required).

- We will reimburse up to $25 for each state safety inspection up to a maximum of one (1) per year.
Take Your Vehicle to a state licensed Repair Facility. Have the Repair Facility contact us as 888-964-1899 or claims@headstartwarrantygroup.com, before any service is performed. Receipts must be legible and verifiable. Handwritten receipts will not be accepted.
Any part that experiences a breakdown during the contract term, except for any other parts specifically excluded in this contract and/or listed in the "What is Not Covered" section of the contract. Coverage provides payment/reimbursement for costs authorized by us to repair or replace parts/components that experience a breakdown, less your deductible amount, in accordance with all terms and conditions of the contract. Coverage for seals and gaskets is included ONLY in conjunction with a covered repair and cannot be the cause of the breakdown.

Tire Only Road Hazard
- Whether it’s a puncture, bruise, impact break, or other road hazard damage, the cost to repair or replace your tire is covered for the program term.
- The reasonable cost of mounting, balancing, valve stems and disposal for any tire replaced and/or wheel repaired or replaced due to a covered road hazard is included.
Tire & Wheel Road Hazard
Tire Only Road Hazard plus:
- The cost to replace a wheel damaged by aroad hazard is covered if the wheel can nolonger be balanced or maintain an airtightseal with the tire.
Tire & Wheel Hazard with Cosmetic Wheel Repair
Tire & Wheel Road Hazard plus:
- Cosmetic repair to all original equipment wheels when the normal appearance is altered by scrapes and/or minor curb rash.
- If the covered wheels or hubcaps are not repairable, they may be replaced with like kind and quality.

- If the windshield is damaged by a covered road hazard, the program provides for repairs of minor chips, stars, or nicks to the windshield glass caused by propelled rocks, stones, or other debris.
- Replacement for damage beyond repair and recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Rental, Rideshare, Transportation Benefit
- Reimbursement for rideshare, taxi, train or bus fare, car service, or rental vehicle while the covered vehicle is undergoing repairs.
